Current Progress

The Newton House has stood at the heart of our community for nearly two centuries as a silent witness to the stories, struggles, and celebrations of South Arkansas.
Yet it has been over forty years since the home received significant structural updates.
Now, the Newton Grounds Project will breathe new life into its walls and grounds through preserving its history yet opening a new chapter as it continues to be the beating heart of our community. Together, El Dorado's longest standing residence is being given a new life with long-overdue structural updates.
The Newton Grounds Project is more than a capital campaign. It is a community movement to preserve the past, embrace the present, and invest in a future we can all be proud of. Every dollar raised brings us closer to a Newton House that’s not only restored, but reimagined. Whether you give $25 or $25,000, you’re a part of something lasting.
